Having long been established as a producer of fine, luxury cars with a glossy, sophisticated image, automobile brand Aston Martin has turned away from what it knows best to try something a little different: homewares. If you want all of the elegance and class of the Aston Martin experience on your table every evening, “Silver by Aston Martin” now offers a solution.

Aston Marton has recruited Grant MacDonald for this endeavour; one of the UK’s best silversmiths and owner of a massive workshop in London. He’s recently been awarded the Queen’s Award for Export for his work, and has now turned his hand to designing this luxury silverware collection, “inspired by the power, beauty and soul of the Aston Martin brand.”

The new line debuted at the Maison & Objet Paris show, and is now taking up a fair amount of room in the homeware section of Harrods, where, if you have some spare cash in your budget, you can pick up some cool, contemporary designs. The line is divided into categories: eating, drinking, gifts, models, travel/picnic and bespoke. Everything is beautifully designed with a sleek edge, offering high-end luxury on everyday items. If you’ve got £16,800 to spend on a picnic basket (and some do, it would seem), the line offers a hamper built with sterling silver, Irish damask linen, 100% Scottish lambswool and English fine bone china, all filled with MacDonald’s exquisite cutlery and crockery.

If you’re really out to impress, “Silver by Aston Martin” has some fantastic options for serving up drinks in true 007 style. The champagne flute set features 24 carat gold, echo carbon-fibre and a hand-finished, beautifully polished case, while the whiskey decanter and cocktail shaker are also sophisticated and chic. All of the elegance and premium design you’d expect from the brand are present, with a price tag to match.
